The Power of Authenticity: Why helping children be true to themselves matters

The power of authenticity is immense for children to know that all they need to be is their true selves.

Children have the power to innately know who they are into this world, but, unfortunately, because of society, they can often lose who they are.

YogaBears is here to ensure that children keep this essential connection to their truest self. We ensure through our classes that children know they are enough just being who they are.

Throughout our magical classes we use chakras as a way for children to understand that they have we have seven interlinked super powers in the body all held within a magical aura.

Today we are focusing on the vishudha chakra the 5th chakra which connects to our true self while removing fear to share our voice.

By being truly authentic we are completely aware of our truest potential which will facilitate our children to not only reach for the stars but shine among them.

If you can imagine that each chakra is almost like a revolving door to a hotel it lets in all that is welcome and lets go or “asks to leave” all that is not.

Letting go to grow on this way is releasing anything untrue, anything that is not authentically aligned to who we are.

The vishudha chakras allows us to connect to and speak in words and actions of our true calling.

The more our children listen to this soul calling the more we can rest assured the soul of our world will be restored and replenished.

What can we do as parents and practitioners to support a child’s authenticity?

Encourage open communication, create a trusting environment and listen actively to every child’s thoughts and feelings.

Validate their experiences and emotions, fostering a sense of safety to express their truth.

Never shame a child’s truth. Shaming a child's truth can lead to feelings of guilt, insecurity, and a reluctance to share in the future.

Shaming a child can hinder their emotional development and damage the trust.

At YogaBears we create safe circles in our classes where children can feel safe to share their thoughts, experiences and feelings.

Our YogaBears circle Promotes self-expression. Our ethos is to celebrate individuality, and avoid imposing rigid expectations. We believe all children should be free juts to be.

Through yoga postures, chakra arts and crafts, mirror work, amongst many other things, YogaBears encourages exploration of innate interests and values, creating a holistic environment.

At YogaBears it is not about simple acceptance of who children truly are is is about nourishing their truest self!
